G scale class 25

The blue stars are drawn on with a Sharpie pen (fine nib permanent marker)

This afternoon I have been doing some roof colouring, lots of 25 pictures show the roof as being near black with dirt. The coach roof was too light as well.

I also have sprayed some sleeper grime on the bottom of the coach, which still needs a lot of glazing ( I keep putting it off !)

In the next one I like how you can see the coach through the cab, one of the benefits of larger scales, this sort of picture is easier !

Interior details G scale class 25

Work has now started on trying to replicate the feel of the cab interior of the 25. The first part being the front consol. This is made from some plasticard off cuts and other bits of scrap from the bit box. The dials are images composed on the computer and reduced to fit. They are composites of various interior cab pictures I could find merged together.

Jordan one of pointing mans cousins is lined up for the drivers job, he is just undergoing surgery, as in a former life he lay on his back as an F1 mechanic !

CME, I got the images by trawling the internet, in the case of the main panel I managed to find a picture that was quite square on but the right end was obscured by the large handle. I got round this by copying the second dial in from the right and pasting it over the obscured

I use a program called coral photopaint which is a bit like photoshop but it allows me to rotate, scale and distort images. The cloning tool also lets me get rid of shadows etc.

The second man side is a composite of 2 pictures distorted and merged together, Not sure how a 25s controls relate to a 25 but if you want me to scale these down I can do very easily, or if you find any decent square on images point me in the right direction and I will process them for you.

The plasticard section is done by proportions rather than to a scale drawing, for example pictures show that the dash is about level with the bottom of the window the cut in are of the dash looked to me to be about 30" or narrow door, then as bits were added on it all had to look proportioned. It wass all made square then extra plastic strips added inside the corners so they could be filed heavily to create the big rads.

When I make the chair and bulkhead details I will take more photos as I go along if that is of any help ??
