I'm very tempted by this coke wagon but before I get my credit card out, does anyone have any information on Cransley Coke please? Such as where were Cransley based and how far did their wagons roam?
Regards,
Ian

New Cransley Iron & Steel Co were based at Cransley, nr Kettering.

I guess the coke wagons would have plied between wherever they sourced their coke and the ironworks at Cransley.

The ironworks became part of Stewarts & Lloyds and closed in 1965 ish.
The plant was demolished and the site taken over by George Cohen by 1967 as a scrapyard, where many steam and diesel locomotives were broken up.

Google Cransley Ironworks and Cransley scrapyard.

Just south of Kettering, along the short Loddington branch built by MR to serve local ironstone workings.
In operation 1878 - 1959 I believe.
