The push-pull fitted locos (and some non-fitted) had a different type of mechanical lubricator on the LHS (cylinder lubrication) which had a bolted top cover, with an angled filler spout in the lid, as opposed to the normal hinged lid. I think this was because the push-pull vacuum operating gear would prevent a hinged lid being opened to replenish the oil. A hinged lid was OK on the RHS (mechanical feed) because the lubricator was much shorter, so the lid cleared the push-pull gear.

Some of the detail differences on the Ivatts seem to be randomly dispersed between class members. For instance, long and short guard irons, and some had a strengthening angle behind the cabside windows. I think there was at least three types of. chimney. Some also had an extra tank top lid on the fireman's side for water treatment.
From 41290 the cab roof was modified , and the first 10 locos built had the injectors mounted under the side tanks.
Here is my effort, built some years ago using a DJH kit. It's almost right!View attachment 228996

What a lovely image.

Some of the locos had their push/pull equipment removed, one of the tell tale signs they had been so fitted was the hole in the bufferbeam that once accommodated the extra pipe (see photo #20)
