A couple of weeks ago, Modbury was one of the layouts at the Macclesfield exhibition - this was the first exhibition with the revised control panel (the old toggle switches have been replaced with a S4 Society Lever Frame and associated micro switches).
I'm pleased to report that the new lever frame performed as well as I expected, and drew one or two complimentary comments from the viewing public (as operating from the front allowed them to see it in action).
I was joined for the weekend by a couple of my fellow Midland Area Group colleagues, Andy and John. A few photos :
First thing Saturday morning, all set up and ready for the public.
A quiet period late on Sunday afternoon - Andy engages in a bit of shunting while John looks on. Saturday had been extremely busy as they had had well over 1000 visitors over the course of the day!
Andy had brought along his recently completed 45xx (and a suitable train of chemical tank and coal wagons, which will eventually be running on his Hayle Quay layout). The body is a modified Dapol one sitting atop a David Eveleigh chassis.
Dean Goods draws to a halt in front of the Signal Box while Duke "Fowey" awaits the road with passenger train.
Closer view of Dean Goods.
A disappointing view with very restricted depth of field, but does show Duke "Fowey" to advantage.
Thanks for looking
