I've just seen a link to the Network Rail Archive http://www.networkrail.co.uk/VirtualArchive/
Through this online archive we will showcase and celebrate the heritage of today’s railway infrastructure and provide access to elements of the Network Rail archive.

There's not much there at the moment as it seems to be early days however the few drawings that are available are fantastic to browse through. They are scanned in fine detail so it's really worth zooming in.

e.g. Britannia Bridge drawn in 1846 http://www.networkrail.co.uk/VirtualArchive/britannia-bridge/

Also Maidenhead Bridge, Box Tunnel, Paddington, Bristol Temple Meads etc.

One I think I'll be keeping an eye on, I hope it's of interest to others.
