Personally, when it comes to American steam, I will go for a berkshire (2-8-4 for fast freights) every time!

You hit that on the nose and yes HO, the Steamers are a mix of O On3 and HO

Hi Matador 
                    ive been tempted to do some us outline On30 with those two truck shays . i remember doing a exhibition way back when and the exhibit next to mine was an n gauge us outline rockies ish look setting made by the warley club the loco was a big boy and the box cars that it was pulling  :drool:[attachimg=1]

It is a Grandt line Kit On3 and apart from the Motor and wheels is entirely plastic
although no longer available it is very customizable
