RTR 7mm Class 23 and J94 from DJ Models

I hope the 7mm CL22 project doesn't just get left on the shelf at Dapol now, because I get the impression it was DJ's baby and in all likelyhood he won't be able contractually to go anywhere near it for years now ...

Mornin' all,

Re DJ Models

I'm mindful of the comments from previous customers who are owed money from Mr Jones's previous model business. It can't be wise to start a new venture without resolving such outstanding issues first.

Seeing your post reminded me that I didn't see any sign of a D63xx on JLTRT's Stand at Telford. Not that I was consciously looking for one, but I think it would've registered if it had been there.

more than noticeable by it's absence I think is the phrase we are looking for - especially as it had made an appearance last year - or was I dreaming.

cheers

The 22 body was definitely on their stand last year.......no idea about this year though as I didn't bother looking on the JLTRT stand.

Spoke to Laurie , indicated that they just hadn't the time to finish due to other orders but was hopeful that they could produce a fully finished demo for Warley and production shortly afterward . Assured will be released at soon as possible time permitting . We will just have to wait and see ,I understand has plenty of pre orders so in their own interests to get released sooner that latter.

Did anyone else notice photos of a D600 casually scattered on the JLTRT stand at Telford? I assume it was the Fred Phipps model as an 'amuse bouche' for the hydro-holics?

Well it can't be hydra-holic can it? That would mean either someone addicted to multi-headed creatures of Greek mythology or something perhaps quite distasteful involving water creatures??!?

And yet again we find ourselves in a minefield associated with a thread that's gone more than a little off-topic...

Aah; hydrauholic. Gottit. And apologies for the diversion.

Will be interesting to see if these models actually emerge, hope they do, 7mm needs all the help it can get from RTR manufacturers. May well consider a J94 if it does in fact come to market.

Does it though?

Whilst I welcome new RTR stuff being available and can see the value in quality products such as Lionheart provides, I've always felt that 7mm was a 'builders' scale. When I was in the trade we reckoned that 70% of our sales, (all items) were 4mm, 20% 2mm and 10% 7mm and others. I suspect those numbers have changed with the advent of good quality N gauge of late and 7mm may be a bit up too, but I don't see the 7mm market as 'needing' help from RTR. There is of course the argument that too much RTR will damage the 7mm sector. Too much stuff into a relatively small market and all that.

I heard on good authority that DJH are seriously considering a Class 22 if sufficient pre-order interest to follow the success of their Class 14........
