What is the baseboard made of? Ply sandwiching polystyrene?

The baseboard is ply on top of two layers of XPS 20mm foam on top of an IKEA 1200 x 350mm TV bench. The back scene when fitted is ply which will allow the solid portion to be removed to allow access to wiring and point motors.

I've been on my own for most of the day, so I thought I'd put it to good use.
I bought some kits from ScaleModelScenery last week, so I started building them yesterday and continued today. I needed to see how they would fit (if indeed they fitted at all) and how they would look.
The one on the left is clad with plasticard brickwork and Wills tiled roof, the lean-to has been added today.
THey seem to work out OK, blocking the view of the train departing the scene from the normal viewing angle.

Some progress has been made with the kits. Lots of weathering and details to add when the clear coat has hardened.

Today I've been mainly playing with DAS clay.
Stone setts on the dockside, like the harbour wall, pressed into wet clay one at a time. Very relaxing and completely frustrating at the same time.

I photted a Class 37 under a sky like that on a bitterly cold Anglesey. Snow was heading in.....!
