Thank you. The trees from MBR are excellent and weighing the cost against the time I would spend on ultimately producing something which wouldn't come close to the quality, I see them as a good investment.

Afternoon all,
There's been pretty much a monsoon here this morning but, hooves crossed, it seems to be blowing over. However, it put a damper ( !) on working on Ewe in the garage so I have been amusing myself elsewhere.
I dug out this little chap.
Far away from East Anglia but I think we all have eclectic interests and one of mine seems to be small European shunting locos, of which this Italian Kof ii seems to be.
I dug it out simply to see what could be achieved in a ridiculously small space using the bare minimum.

Hi Tim,
Magneti Marelli were an Italian supplier of electrical bits and bobs, magnetos etc. I can only assume that their products ended up being used in the Kof or 213 as they were classified by the FS.

Yes indeed and for the foreseeable as well. I think what influences me is the stock. I've always built a layout around a particular loco or a building. In this particular case, that of yer actual Eyetalian, the trigger is of course the Kof ii and the Badoni. However, in the same way that Blackwater Pier will need to cater for GER as well as SE&CR/ Light Railway and early L&NER scenarios , if....and I stress IF, something Continental were to appear for said Kof to canter about on then it may also have to cater for a bit of French nonsense as well. The reason being that I have a penchant for small French shunters such as a Moyse Tracteur etc.
Yes, I have eclectic tastes and I take my hat off to those that dedicate their efforts to one particular era and company but that's not where I am at present. It may change. I might 'settle down' but currently, I'm not there and given this butterfly approach the ridiculously small, self-contained, bare minimum layout thing allows me to indulge myself without too much effort or expense.
