7mm Track plan from screen to formation

When we were building the trackwork for Little Mill Junction apart from the concern of de-lamination we also also noticed that any water-based adhesive we tried caused the Templot plot to expand quite worryingly (most of our plots were 4' long). Solvent-based adhesives didn't give us enough opportunity to adjust the position of the plot.

Out solution , that we spent many weeks experimenting and wrangling over, was to cut small apertures approx 4mm x 1mm transverse to the rail and then mark the underlay using a biro through the plot in the direction of the rail.

The apertures can be seen above and marked underlay below

That aspect of LMJ worked well at least.

Personally I just stuck the A4 Templot sheets together using a prit stick and then laid the joined up sheets down on a bed of neat PVA glue ( well brushed in ). No problems what so ever, sometimes I think we tend to cause concern when there’s no need to .

cheers,

Martyn.
