7mm Wagon Bogie Rocking Axle chassis

I bought some lovely container flats over a year ago now and needed to convert them to S7.
As it was going to be difficult to do this without destroying the original bogie chassis, I decided to etch my own design with a rocking axle and inside bearings.

Here's the etch

There are 5 chassis on each sheet.

Here's the smaller side, it just folds up into a box, there is an 1/8th bearing on the left and a standard 7mm loco bearing on the right for comparison.

Here's the completed chassis I have used a 6ba bolt to hold both halves together.

4 completed and ready to have the side frames attached.

2 finished bogies with side frames attached by 12 ba screws.
The side frames needed a bit of filing to get them to the correct height in relation to the wheels.

All 5 wagons are now completed and run very well.

Kewl stuff ;)

Always interesting to see how others layout their artwork, my first reactions was 'wow' there's a lot of space around the parts, followed very quickly by that's clever, because you can cut them out without having to get a fret saw in there....like I have to on the high density W1 etch work.
