Many thanks for the B'day wishes. Had a glorious afternoon on the service trains, and even grabbed a few minutes in the cab for the run-around the train at Kidderminster. '62 is performing very nicely indeed - a little water discharged but we can forgive her a weak bladder at this age and no harm done (fortunately no water in cylinders

this spring), and all bodes well for the big celebrations tomorrow when she works the main diner and two full round service trips. She sounds fantastic - only problem is the power-offs to observe the speed restrictions which come along all too soon. Lots of great memories being discussed, including China Clays, racing Deltics on the ECML, day trips around South Wales, Wizzos to Hayle and St Ives, driving in Laira and Canton, D1056 on THE railtour of all final railtours, and those infamous red plates on D1013.......
Back in my tent now..... fire on, red wine in hand, happy family, and all is at peace in Shropshire.....
Looking forward to another Birthday celebration tomorrow!
Boris.
