Wildlife in the garden - Indian summer?

I last wrote about the Bullfinches in March, here, when Mr. brought Mrs. for lunch - since then there have been very few sightings of either bird. Last week and continuing this we have had several visits be it either the male or the female Bullfinch, just not both at the same visit. Today the male Bullfinch has been most insistent with his visits to the Sunflower feeder, almost as if he is providing food for the female on a nest somewhere.

As usual, photos by my Good Lady through a window.

We have had a couple of rare visitors to the railway and garden recently, we have lots of rabbits but this is the first time we have seen a hare this close to the house (we do see them when we go out for walks nearby)

These are the cropped images but I thought I would pst a full shot to show the trackwork down the line from us

Then this afternoon we had our first sighting of a hedgehog this year in the front garden

He/she was very obliging and turned around to pose for me

When we saw them last year it was usually late in the day and at the back on the railway line. So it was nice to see this one in the front garden. It disappeared under the decking so hopefully it will make a home under there.

I like the thruppenny bit trackwork. A modeller would get some stick if they did that!
I agree with you about the trackwork... however, a modeller would not get any complaints if his name is Jordan (@Jordan) and deservedly so.

Dave (@daifly), your text and photo of the 1938 coinage does not appear... Adrian (@adrian), can you advise?

It's visible on my phone Graham, I haven't looked on my PC yet.

A few back we had a swan nesting by the side of the main A149 coast road – literally inches from carriageway. Unfortunately I don't have any photos.
