 ah yes I have a 3year old and another 18 months old, they do get n the way of progress somewhat  my boy is very helpful in the garden, constantly putting tools away in a 'safe' placeiploffy said:Progress is just about stopped at the moment with a 16 month old running around and the wife telling me i have to clean up the WB ,I am hoping to restart the layout this year with alot more digging and bricklaying and hope fully i will have at least 1 complete oval down by the close of play. That is really why we ended up hereiploffy said:I must admit that I was finding RMweb 4 very hard going very little on the 7mm scene at all completely dominated by 4mm. I wonder what ever became of the idea that 7mm modellers would have their own forum space, it didn't come to much did it,
No problem with that although most of us at the moment have a preference for WR, we always like to see what other people are up to.oh well this looks more promising just as long as you can except LM based modelling with a leaning towards WR hydraulics
You & me both mate :?iploffy said:I must admit that I was finding RMweb 4 very hard going very little on the 7mm scene at all completely dominated by 4mm.
I don't think they like having separate sections, so we were stuck with a very difficult to navigate site :vista: , I think we did end up with our area in the form of 'Roaring Forties' but we weren't allowed to post any of our modelling in there, which makes the whole thing rather pointless :? . What we should have had IMO was a modelling area for 7mm scale upwards, then again if they left it alone when it was RMweb3 everything was fine IMO , they could have added a blog option to that format for those who wanted one, which would be a lot better IMO than the present formatiploffy said:I wonder what ever became of the idea that 7mm modellers would have their own forum space, it didn't come to much did it, oh well this looks more promising just as long as you can except LM based modelling with a leaning towards WR hydraulics

The sad fact is that there is less of specific 7mm interest. and I agree the 7mm section should have been for everything related to larger scales, but looking at the success of RMweb it has certainly appealed to huge audience.Phill Dyson said:I don't think they like having separate sections, so we were stuck with a very difficult to navigate site :vista: , I think we did end up with our area in the form of 'Roaring Forties' but we weren't allowed to post any of our modelling in there, which makes the whole thing rather pointless :? . Does it actually have a bigger audience in it's new format I wonder?, maybe it's just me, but the posting on there seems far less prolific these days.28ten said:but looking at the success of RMweb it has certainly appealed to huge audience.

Phill, the 'recruitment officer' directed me towards this site. I didn't know of its existence, I assume it's top secret by invitation only
It does explain why RMweb has gone a bit quiet - overcomplicated perhaps? There is much to be gained from relative simplicity, and it seems you've all been hiding away here.
Most of you will know I had to (temporarily) put down the hydraulics to concentrate on my Oldham based ex L&Y mostly steam era layout, but I do want to complete a couple of hydraulics this summer that got very near to the paintshop before being put down - the RJH Western and the Tower Warship. Newton Heath may have to become a sub-shed of Penzance
Cheers for now.
Richard
