The Yard - A small industrial layout in 7mm

Layout looked good yesterday Martin. You were all engrossed with the lorries or crane each time I walked by and didn't want to interrupt to say hello!
Thank you, kind of you to say so. Just interrupt us next time. We had a good show, a bit warm, but so was everyone. I was very pleased with how all the moving things worked all weekend, only had to give one loco a light wheel clean because the dust the lorries wheels deposit on the rail as they drive over.
We were very pleased with all the appreciative comments we had, makes it all worth while.
Not a lot of energy left today, just going to take it easy.

I too enjoyed seeing the layout at Railex but, similarly to alant, I didn't want to interupt the concentration.
Particularly impressed by the traction engine and the overhead crane work.

Thank you Bevis. I cannot claim responsibility for the traction engine, that is the work of Giles, he brought it along as he and Di were helping us operate the layout over the weekend and very welcome they were, making it a great time.

Well that's Railex done now.

Certainly did not get off to the best of starts. What should have been 1.75 hour journey around the M25, ended up a four hour slog of traffic jams.

We finally got there at 6pm, just in time for the fish n chips arrival, which was by now, most welcome. Unloading and set up was finally complete by 8:45pm, then set off to find our hotel accommodation.

The club had put us up in a nice hotel, very welcome was the air conditioning. The beds were very comfortable aiding a swift passage into sleep.

We were very pleased with the large number of compliments and interest we had for the layout, this is always much appreciated and really helps you when it is getting rather warm and as the afternoon rolls on the energy levels start to fade.

The Bowaters Paper Mill layout was backing on to us, it was great to catch up with them and looking forward to seeing them at a future show.

Risborough & District Model Railway Club really did look after us, very much appreciated it was to, especially all those drinks.

The weekend was made all the better because we had the help of Giles and Di to help operate the layout. Always a pleasure to be in their company and a great time was had.
