Still a no go, I forgot to mention a 1.5 bed with a one year old!

I have to admit though, I suddenly had a 7mm NG urge at Telford whilst walking past the wright lines stand. I suddenly fancied a couple of square foot baseboard with some Roy Link track, an armoured simplex and a couple of wagons. It took a surprising amount of self control to make myself see sense.. That and the cost of the wright lines kits of course..

EDIT: The pics of my O scale layout in an A4 Boxfile were deleted off Photobucket some time ago, so I'll forgive you for overlooking that layout in the linked Thread. I'll get them loaded again here soon.
If you haven't got room for a Boxfile, I dread to think how cramped that Flat is!!!

Have you considered utilising the space in the boot of your car for a covert layout? You might get away with it until the next big shopping trip or weekend away, at which point there would be some explaining to do ("I was just moving it for a friend and……….").

Not a bad idea except, the boot of the car is full of photography gear and footplate clothes...that there isn't space for in the flat..

Wow, long time no update!!

Anyway, today we had a visitor at Withyn Reach...


My lad isn't really interested in trains any more, as at 13 he succumbs to the usual teenage pursuits - football & music (& girls to come, no doubt!! ) but his 16yr-old mate is still trains mad, and on the wave of the O Scale R-T-R boom, this is his first O Scale loco. Here it meets the resident Kettle


There's a lot of freeplay in the centre axle; it coped well with the subtle gradients on the layout


...but does a Terrier weigh more than 50 tons??


We had a bit of a "Run what ya Brung" operating session - great fun without worrying too much at all about prototype accuracy!!


Dapol Terrier meets Dapol 08. The Terrier is higher geared, and quite raced away from the 08 when we ran them on the same track (12v DC)


A great bit of fun, and proof this layout is still in action!! - and still unfinished!!

At the end of the day this becomes insignificant..... as long as you enjoyed yourselves and your son's mate retains his interest . One more potential convert to O scale.

Absolutely. I found a few lengths of Peco 124BH flextrack I have had for ages, and won't use, and donated them to him for his first O scale layout!
