Evening Dave I mostly use powders, either carrs, pinnacle or humbrol and for paints on the two 08's I've use the usual railmatch roof dirt and oily steel. I usually use weathered black but I've ran out. I tend to mix these with gunmetal blue and matt black though then just go with the flow.

When you create the dirt accumulation in the corners do you paint the area first and throw the pigment at it, let it dry and dust off?
I tend to use Vallejo acrylics and washes as I was introduced to these by my local wargaming club - these were used to seriously weather my P48 GP9.

I sometimes do that Dave or I just dust straight onto the body, once it's done I always seal it with matt varnish. In the past I've used railmatch matt varnish using an airbrush but on the 08 I've used Testors Dullcoat and I have to say it's great and I highly recommend it.

I've used Testors Dullcoat but found it can play havoc with certain decals. I've no rattle cans left but still have a bottle.

Another vote here for the Alclad varnish range. My local model shop started stocking it so I gave it a try, it's consistency is such that it goes straight in the airbrush without any thinning. I tend to use the semi-matt/satin varnish rather then the full matt.
