Steve, if this is for R/B IIRC the ramps were only about half the length as any movement over them was at slow speed. The other thing is don't go above the rail hight as this may cause problems.

Sand is going down with a sprinkling of talc all covered in PVA Once dry tomorrow il start the painting

Now the weathering begins, the White blob is PVA, I made a small indentation in the sand and filled it, once dry il give it a few coats of clear gloss nail varnish. Weathering powders next, this will highlight the areas with talc

I've cut the MDF for the concrete hard stand, il prime this with £ shop grey paint then paint it with rail match weathered concrete grey. I need to clean the pit sides up a little then I will glue it down & 5043 basking in the early morning winter sun

Might help with some roof or peripheral details, especially the courtyard which looks like it is accessed through the buildings to the lower facing side.

This is a WWII photo, but no idea if RAF or Luftwaffe and I've cropped just one small corner.
