Splendid progress Geoff.
The layout is really coming together very nicely.
As for the 14xx.......I really do wonder how long I can hold out....

That is stunning.

I can only echo what the others have said superb work and really like the ground frame in its setting.

Fantastic stuff Geoff. I really rare your work and look forward to updates. Cracking stuff.
Thanks Chris, I spent a lot of time reading through your thread before taking the plunge into 7mm scale, so you have a lot to answer for!!
Geoff
I have to agree, Geoff. He is very naughty.

So that's two of you ganging up on me is it?
So that's two of you ganging up on me is it?
Make that 3 !
Before and after, looking back I think the box would have been a huge mistake as the ground frame looks more at home, and helps create a more open look to the scene.
Makes you wonder how long the list will be, I mean there must be more than three of us who have been influenced and inspired by your modelling
Meanwhile I have been adding a little more greenery to the area beyond the crossing, after which I took a couple of photos. That is something that I always do when developing a scene, as I find it helps me to decide how far to take things. Anyway this photo started me thinking about developing the cassette deck scenically, much as I did with Llangunllo's. Whilst far from perfect the idea worked well on the old layout, suited my style of operation and made good use of what would have been a dead space.

The big question is, can I capture the scenes with paint and brush?
Geoff
There are some instances on the Southern where they removed signal boxes on lightly used lines a replacement ground frame was sited on the station platform under the canopy surrounded by a iron fence.
