there are no plans at the moment, as I built this as a means of generating some of the funds for the new DCC layout, which will be a CCE/Stabling point theme. It will be on the Bring and Buy stand at Gresford, unless sold beforehand.

'work stained' - a bit like me at times - according to the wife

I tried a new method - having sprayed the frame/roof dirt I left it for a couple of hours then with a half inch wide soft brush dipped in thinners and wiped across a piece of kitchen towel to take most of it off, drew the brush down the side until it 'caught' the paint and repeated this until I was happy with the result. I'll certainly do it again.

Hi CME,

the only book that I have read on weathering is by Martyn Welch and all of my efforts originate from there - from when the book was first published, everything else is observation, patience and an awful lot of trial and even more error.

Regarding the traction motors used on the MLV, I had this response from Dave Clucas on the MIGO forum

"ABC traction motors are the biz!! I have 2 x 3car 170's each with only one t/m and they run fine. Lead is the reason why, and lots of it over the powered bogie. I have a pair of 43's, each with one t/m per bogie. Hauls a 7 car XC set drawing only 0.9amp. Again, lots of lead in the bodies. I agree that making a torque link to resist rotation is tricky but do-able. Fear not! Go for it!

That sounds like a for the traction motors.
Weight is obviously the key, for commission locos that are going to be runners I tend to fill them with lead and ballrace the axles, which improves running no end.
