Apologies for my momentary aberration. When Cynric asked about favourite colour (and boy I bet he wished he'd never started that one) I was in a minority of one in saying maroon, especially for my love of Duchesses, so to have a second vote...

I have yet to think up a convincing back story for 'City of Carlisle' finishing up on the Whithorn branch though (other than I always wanted one when I was a kid and could never afford one !).
Your problem is that Sir Billy bought the engine and paid for a stock movement to the terminus ... only to find that the planning permission for his new holiday camp was for a site further up the road .I have yet to think up a convincing back story for 'City of Carlisle' finishing up on the Whithorn branch...
