Hi, I wonder if someone can answer a question? If I come on Saturday and pay for one day entry, can I later in the day pay the difference and convert my ticket to 2 days? I think I will only need one day, but may decide that I need 2 once I've been round the show a while.

Many thanks.

Kevin
Kevin,

The reply is yes, you can pay the difference if you decide you would like to come back for a second day. There is no reason why anyone else attending for the Saturday cannot do the same, if they wish to return on the Sunday.

EDIT: Further to my post above, where I had received a confirmation about a ticket "upgrade", I have just received the following from the Gauge O Guild Treasurer:
"Many thanks for your enquiry. A two day ticket is less than two one day tickets in recognition of the commitment to attend on both days. If you purchase a one day ticket and decide to return on the second day you will need to purchase another one day ticket. An upgrading system as your enquiry suggests would require more administration, slow down entry to the show on day two, and reduce show income. I am sure you will appreciate if we agreed to upgrades it would have to be available to all and would create a precident for future two day shows. We are not in a position to offer it this year but the Show committee will consider the suggestion for 2025."

The stand that everything sits on was a bit of a lash up last time around. I'd forgotten how much so. Lots of mods and some strengthening later now means this lot should be quicker to set up.

I'll have a workbench off to one side with work underway on one or two items.

Chris I do like the lighting with your display. It might suit a small layout, perhaps with a third lamp. Less intrusive than a lighting rig. Please, what sort of lamps are these?

I recall buying a couple of similar lamps with dimmer controls to use as his & hers bedside reading lamps, to clip onto the bed itself. They were great apart from a rather serious oversight by the designer. There was a led in each controller that was much brighter than the light itself when set to the dimmest setting, and was bright enough to read by when the lamps themselves were turned off.

Needless to say, they went back…

Led flexible desk lamp. Three choices of white light and dimmable. Usb connector required. Bought from Amazon about 2 years ago.

Chris I don't want to buy these lamps but you have helped me see what I want from the my lighting rig. Thanks ever so much. And, as Giles as pointed out, the buildings are really good!

Just bought my advance, one-day tickets, so saving £2 each. Looking forward to seeing some marvellous models and, hopefully, meeting a few of the modellers I follow on here. Might even be picking up my MOK Rebuilt MN kit (and buying some wheels - fine scale or S7? The jury is out!), although I haven't seen any updates to confirm it will be ready for the show.
Dave.

After loosing one of the Modern Image O Gauge team earlier this year to Prostrate Cancer we are proud to be supporting Prostate Cancer UK as we lead up to MIOG 2025. The team will be on stand S10 at Guildex where we will be raffling a pair of ZZA Independent Snowploughs kindly donated by Footplate Models of Kidderminster. The winner will get to choose the pair of Snowploughs they would like.

Tickets will be on sale Saturday through the weekend and the winner will be picked at random on Sunday afternoon. See you there!
