My Dad had a Victor and used to pick me up from school on Saturday lunchtime. One day he was a bit late and as I was going to see Nottm. Forest (up the reds - in those days!!!) on an early kick-off (before they had floodlights) he put his foot down. At one point going down hill the speed on the clock was well over the 100 mark and I looked down in the footwell and all I could see was the road surface between the door and frame. The door was oscillating in the frame like a good 'un, told my Dad what I had seen and he tried to get more speed out of the damned vehicle to see if he could get the gap wider - and this was in the days before seat belts had even been thought of. Good job Mum wasn't in the car except when we got home and Mum said "I wasn't expecting you for another 10 minutes". Oh really was Dad's comment and I got out of the room quickly before bursting out laughing. Seems he had been just as quick getting over to pick me up though he never admitted it - or denied it. Those were the days.

Rob

Sorry, couldn't resist the story.

Well I'm in a right old dilemma....
My lad's mate wants to come with us. His Mom wants to come... so SWMBO is thinking about coming along too :confused:
The excuse of "I can only get 4 people in on one Ticket" hasn't worked, and there is the benefit of the fact that when the two lads get bored, they can all clear off to the nearby park and McDonalds for a while (hopefully just before 1pm)... BUT...

How the hell am I going to prevent SWMBO from seeing all those Price Tags on stuff....???? :confused: :eek: :oops:

:shit::shit::shit::shit:
You are gonna cop it now are you going Saturday It looks like me knocking the model off at Kettering will be nothing compared to the firework display lol

Jordan, you could tell her that thems starting prices and no one EVER pays that for a kit. Also you could try all prices are for non members of the guild and members get for around half that :D:oops:................ She may fall for it.;)

If you give me the nod i could always come over , whilst your looking at stuff and say " I've just managed to get myself a good deal on a kit for just over £200 ;).

But then once ive gone she might batter you and say " DONT YOU EVER THINK OF PAYING THAT FOR A KIT "

:oops::oops:

I would probably take some extreme safety measures to ensure this page doesn't get seen too..

First rule of SWMBO, don't talk about SWMBO

Second rule of SWMBO, don't talk about SWMBO....

Why not just 'browse' round with SWMBO in toe, not letting her have chance to see prices, Then at 1pm introduce her to Iploffy & Marsa (Other members are available), Then slip away for an hour or two :)):)):))

Oi! It's bad enough babysitting the Colonel and diverting his ball and chain from the prices. I don't need to run interference for someone else :rant: And seeing as YOU thought of it soldier then well volunteered that man. Front and centre Private :D

Would it be an idea to meet at Scale7 track? Then we/they/us can watch some of the thunderers engines running at the same time as the yearly gathering?

Just a thought?

JB.

I don't really mind, but it's a bit late in the day to change the venue?....... or maybe we should make it 1300 at the F/S test track followed by 1330 or another suitable time at the S7 test track to avoid two separate groups at different places this year?:)

Early start for me ........we are setting off now (SVR today):thumbs:
