Pleased to say I took third place in the loco competition on Saturday with a scratch built S7 Reid Atlantic, Ian Middleditch came in first with a very nice Scottish loco.

Good to catch up with those I met also meeting face to face with some I have only conversed with on WT.

My little haul with 3 bargains, a Parkside Fish van / Express parcels SPV on bring & buy for £25, all bits still sealed. 2 x Mini vans ( one is a Oxford Diecast yellow Express parcel vehicle & the other is a Vanguard Bristol Water van ( Boxed ) ). I also got a Heljan 40 body from Heljan (Via @BrushType4 )

Haven't been to the Telford do for about 20 years - it has grown a bit!
Took the family, expecting them to have had enough by lunch time (so that they could go to the park in the afternoon whilst I had more talking / catching up time). But 3 y.o. daughter had other ideas - she had a great day. Favourite spot was by the sea shore on 'Runswick Bay', which she returned to at least 4 times.
A couple of books at good prices and a few tools in the haul for the day.
Do I wish there was so much choice (kits and RTR) in Gauge 3? No - I'd be penniless if there was!

Had a great time delivering the diesel books on Saturday, the strain on the arms was better than buying shares in the Post Office had they gone via that very expensive route - thanks to all who made purchases. Enjoyed the chats with the other WTers that I bumped into and hope that you all had a good spend up and a safe journey home.

I came away with a Connoisseur ex SR Queen Mary bogie brake from the E&T stand, in need of a repaint but a very good model under the existing paint (pictures will be posted as and when) and an ex SR B4 0-4-0t in early BR livery, which only needs a (generic) sound decoder fitted, so very 'chuffed' with the weekend all round.

Good show, I think I was lucky to get 1st with my 4f. It was intended as my entry for last year but as I didn't get then I entered it at the last minute. Rob Pulham of this parish got 2nd & 3rd for his superb wagon building skills. It was good to meet up with so many and I am pleased to say that the G&SWRA cattle vans have now sold out and we are now planning another wagon kit.
It's raining here this morning so I might just chill in the workshop!

had Boy Little Big Mouth in reluctant tow - who as I explained to some of you I met, has only recently declared that "trains are boring". I wouldn't have minded too much but he was stood next to D1015 at Bridgnorth last weekend when he said it!!!

I enjoyed my brief visit to Telford this year. I seemed to spend a fortune on little yellow and blue boxes and bits associated for them.

Mrs T (not that one), Pepper and I wanted to go on somewhere afterwards but the rain followed us all the way home :-(

I'm worn out! I'm currently sitting in the hotel with Best Beloved, wondering what to do for the next couple of days before we head back darn sarf.

Thanks to everyone who popped by and gave us encouragement and good will on the Finney7 stand.

The Friday evening Bridgenorth pub bash was great, Taw Valley on a special was even better scenery than the usual inside of a pub walls, even better was the inside of the cab after blagging my way onto the footplate

Must say the layouts all looked very good, probably the best showing I've seen in a few years but didn't really, sadly, get a great deal of time to see them.

Picked up some nice books, a MTH Br185 TRAXX RTR and a couple of Heljan bodies, Warship and Falcon for some scratch building therapy.

Ha ha yeah but you're biased!!
I had a good look at the S7 track this time, as I've been up to my neck in hand-spiking my US track, & to be honest I was surprised at the length of the S7 sleepers. They seemed to be so wide outside of the rails that they made the gauge look rather narrow, instead of obviously wider than standard O, which rather defeated the object of the excercise in my eyes. Just my opinion.

Not too biased (track wise) these days, it's in desperate need of having all of its point work done into the sidings. I know what you mean though. I think they've used 9 ft sleepers and the rails don't seem to be centered on the sleepers which does make it look a little odd.

Originally though, I was mostly referring to the baseboards themselves which are beautifully made.

It's just a thought, but maybe he's got taste and prefers the refinement of a 2700hp English Electric product... I'll get my coat.

Thanks to all who stopped by the Gladiator stand for a chat. We hope that next year we will have a better looking display: something other than rows of boxes for sale! We also hope to have the full range in stock then, including a new item............

I'm supposed to be modelling pre-grouping Great Eastern in gauge 3, but I succumbed to a Heljan AC railbus at Telford. It was a bargain! Spent Sunday evening looking for the location for a micro layout to include it, and a green Dapol 08 and some mineral wagons. Perhaps somewhere round Bodmin?
