JS models warehouse built and painted up, the customer does not require the first floor so that will be cut off on Thursday, roof tiles and a plinth and it will be on its way to the owner

Today was the first time the whole layout has been assembled in one piece.
There’s still lots to do but I’m really pleased with how it’s progressing. Best part of the day was realising I only need another 5 trees plus the two I have being made in France! I have a forest more than a layout!

Looks fantastic - rather than the standard 4'x2' board the undulations and added height and depth make it stand out.

The scenery is really stunning. How does the layout operate? Apologies if this is explained further up the thread. Are there fiddle yards, or a continuous loop?

At the moment is doesn’t! I will be adding some simple boards either end to test everything out and run some short trains, long term I’d really like to get it in a loop but ideally in a fixed location potentially as part of a club

Something I really wanted with this layout was to have a railway running through the landscape, 20’ isn’t that long really in 7mm so I’ve exaggerated this particularly at the Haskins hill end with the steep rise up the hill side. It also increases the scenic area as well.

Guttering now complete on all buildings and a coat of paint applied, it will all need doing again before I can finally fix the buildings in place.
Shed roof complete including vents and lead flashing, barge boards on and painted.
We are very much on the home stretch now.

The modelling side of Pontycwm is just about complete, tomorrow I plan to get some outdoor shots with a nicer backdrop. Then it’s fascia painting and lamp wiring prior to delivery next week.
