I saw one of these on Sunday in Binfield at the O gauge show very nice and cheaper than other RTR locos, well impressed.

Dear All
We recently received the first photos of the decorated pre production samples the photos are below.
Richard

The photos show 2 locos with no yellow warning panel and slightly different details. The reservation page only seems to show one option for the pre warning panel loco. Are you doing two at all? I've got one on pre-order, wondering if there's a choice to be made.

Cheers

One of the version without warning panels is the limited edition version of the fully decorated preserved loco D8233.

Oh right, thanks very much..... Makes things much simpler then, my order is for one in the original livery...

Cheers

Well I actually got my hands on one of the test samples yesterday.

I have to say that it looks really good, but there are a few issues that we are going to get fixed to make sure we have the best possible quality model that can. I haven't any photos as we had some professionally taken on Friday by a well known member of this group and they will appear here shortly.

I did do a conversion to DCC, it took all of 3 minutes, you just unscrew the body, lift it up (it won't come away completely as it attached by wires) and plugged in the 21 pin decoder, screwed the body back on and its done.

Hauling 4 coaches the loco drew less than an amp at over half full speed.

Having been with Richard while we tested it, the slow speed performance was particularly impressive. The loco was only run on DCC not DC.

No we haven't, I was tempted to do it yesterday afternoon as I doubt no one would have noticed.

The wheels look just like Heljans, and the cover on the bogie just unscrews in a better but similar fashion.
I can't see conversion being a problem, but it will have to wait until we get one of the production ones.

I had confirmation of my pre-order last week, and also that there is now the option of the sound decoder fitted (which I am taking up) but I ordered mine way back when I was modelling ER........now in WR territory......oh well......Rule #1 applies!

The perfect Loco for a rake of GWR Clay trucks :D

That looks like a carefully built hand finished model, only better......mightely impressive Richard.

If only all cabs were finished like that.......really looking forward to mine arriving now, even more.
