All stations to Poplar, managed to grab sometime to start adding all the finery (as much as can be determined to this much modified class over its lifetime) but the front end is starting to look the part me thinks

Hi Michael, I have come a bit late to this thread but just to say what a beautiful model. The NLR is a very interesting railway and unfortunately I visited Broad Street in the 80s one Sunday then I returned the following week with a camera only to find it gone!!!!!! My memory of the station is that it had a wonderful patterned concourse, really Victorian.

On a similar note I know you have been asking for drawings etc. but does anyone know the article by Cyril J Freezer in the Railway Modeller in the early 70s which had a drawing on one of the engines and some coaching stock? I tried to find it the other day but cannot remember which month/year it was? The drawing are not brilliant as they are small but they are of the coaching stock too.

I agree with you the NLR is such a fascinating railway company, and its quite amazing what they did at Bow and Devons Road. Ive enjoyed the research very much, and out of my window in Camden I watch in the distance the current North London line (or Overground) trundle by, still with a lot of freight movement.Then to discover a good few generations back my relatives worked on the railway at Camden roundhouse and the stables now the famous market made me smile.. Im summoning the courage to tackle one of the outside cylinder 4-4-0's next if I can work out how to deal with the angles of the cylinders and make a one piece smokebox/cylinder !

Mmmm difficult as it will only be a generic sound. I would start by looking for sound decoders with sound profiles for small locos built around the same period i.e. late Victorian/early Edwardian.

Digitrains offer sound profiles for the A1X Terrier, L&YR tank (ESU Loksound and Zimo) and Beattie Well Tank (Zimo).

Afternoon all,
Things have been a little crazy at home and some exciting changes head but I finally got myself some modelling time. My second foray into the NLR has seen the Class 75 Park Tank emerge.At least this one I can crawl over the poor dilapidated one languishing in Horsted Keynes sidings. Another learning curve for me, split frame pick up and the joys of making an O gauge designed kit with outside cylinders work in S7, my its tight!
So thanks to @eastsidepilot magic lathe for the wheel turning and Finney7 for the gearbox which works a treat,Ill certainly use one of those again. I think this will make up into a handsome chunky little Eastender and this one Im going to finish at the end of its life.....
