How much fun can one guy have with a couple of type 2's?
Answer - plenty.
The morning pick-up has an infrequent visitor today. The days of large quantities of cattle moving to and from Maud - one of the biggest marts in Scotland - have all but gone, so livestock movements has become a rare sight on the branch. These two vans are being gently placed at the loading ramp.
Having placed the cattle, the van and a steel open at the loading bank, replenished the local coal supply and cleared the outgoing wagons, its work here is done. D5341 prepares to head back to Fraserburgh.
Later in the day, D5322 arrives with the 2:08 pm working from Fraserburgh. The stock left Aberdeen at 12:23, split at Maud Jcn with half proceeding to Peterhead and this half to Fraserburgh. From there it does a round trip down the branch. The driver today is making sure the passengers don't have to walk far and is sitting out onto the level crossing.
There are 14 minutes allowed for the run round at New Aberdour before the service heads back to Fraserburgh, from where the stock will form the 3:08 pm service to Aberdeen. D5322 will remain in Fraserburgh for the afternoon.
And just to prove there are two of them, here are the BRCW Twins.
