I'm a bit sheepish in posting this and I know that it's probably a bit late and I have no wish to denigrate your excellent ballasting, but if this is an industrial layout, I think that ash is the most likely candidate for the ballasting as it's free apart from transporting it, a lot of sidings were ash ballasted as well.

The ballast is described as 'fine cinders'. There's more to do yet, much more.....

Loving the tree, Rob - a real lineside looking type if ever there was such a thing.

I think I mean the type you’d see intertwined with an old railway perimeter fence - something Cornish like Wenford comes to mind; you know, windswepty type of thing (I’m beginning to sound like a character from Fr. Ted now, so I’d better shut up, but I hope you follow my drift :confused:).

Set against a countryside background, I reckon it would be hard to distinguish it from the real thing.

Would you enlighten us all please?

Thank you, Jonte. I will do a write up once I have a couple more under my belt. I'm still experimenting.

Well, with Sheep Dip advancing with the usual molluscesque progress you'd think I would be content with that.

However.........oh yes........thoughts are turning to the next chapter and this one will be a tad different. Even I am surprised by this one and this one could surprise a few other types as well.

The working title is Lambton D'Arcy......


Which could well be longer than the layout.

No, Lamb Regis is on the back burner for now.

This will be a bit of a diversion but Lamb Regis will be built. I want to have room to build Lamb Regis and leave it up, attached to Mutton. At present that is not possible so another small, self contained Cameo is the order of the day.

Ah I see bigger house! Big shed/garage! Or as in my case the little ones leaving home and gaining their bedrooms :) .
Can’t work the clue out though sounds Dorchester way?
