This is really sad and a situation I never expected to see on WT. Sure we have disagreements or differences of opinion but there's usually an apology if a message is interpreted as personal invective - most of the time we seem to manage a simple discussion and just air our opinions. It's never previously come to this. Clearly we don't know what the PM said but if it's caused a situation where a member has left I strongly suggest that the perpetrator be disbarred from any further participation.

I, personally, have previously left a 7mm group where the invective got personal and once it's allowed to happen it seems to breed. Let's cut the infection off at source.

Nooo this can't be right....

I was only just admiring Rob's latest work, only to be confronted with a post saying he's not going to participate anymore....:(
I'm not an OO modeler, but but absolutley love what Rob does layout and weathering wise.

As for the 'troll'...needs to be strung up by the short and curlies and slowly lowered into said sheep dip..!! (and that's the polite version..)

Just caught up with this thread and I can't believe what I'm reading! How and why would anyone criticise Rob's or anybody else's contribution to WT, Rob's threads are so informative and inspiring and through them I've learnt quite a lot. I only hope he sees all the positive comments and has a rethink. I also hope the member responsible is held to account.

I'm as disappointed with the outcome and Rob's subsequent decision as most but the matter was looked into by the site admins and i understand discussions had.

No idea what was said to the other party but I don't think it's appropriate to discuss our own thoughts on suitable measures on this thread. One for the site admins.

I'm likely to be seeing Rob at the weekend and will point out the glad tidings he's received from you all

Please let Rob know the amount of support and that his experience is absolutely out of character for WT. I've never seen this previously and doubt I ever will again. I hope not, or my own membership may be up for grabs! We'd love to see him back - just to pick up from where he left off and no need to refer to any of the unpleasantness.

Well said that man.

Taunton is too far for me to travel otherwise I would go to the event and let Rob know just how I feel about the way he has been treated Next best thing from my point of view, Chris, is if you can print the posts over the last few days and show Rob just how he is respected and admired by WT in the round.

thank you and regards, Graham

Shocked to hear that Rob has been forced to depart these shores, I met him at the Taunton Show last year a splendid bloke, despite his ovine tendencies. This place will be a poorer place without his contributions. His less is more modelling was outstanding.

I thought the membership on here was tolerant of other members views. I'm pretty sure that I don't always agree with everything that appears here, I got banned from the other place, because of something I wrote on a different forum. The place to take umbrage with someone's views is on the forum in which the comments were made, not to resort to PM's on a different forum. I'm very disappointed that this has come to pass on this forum.
