The game is afoot, of which more later.

However, I have all the existing layouts out and about this year with a wider geographical spread than previously.

If you are going along to any of the below, please make yourself known.

The "tour" dates are as follows ;

15/16 April. Saltash (TBC)- Sheep Dip.
23 April. Taunton- SWAG. ***
15 July-Larkrail (TBC ) Sheep Dip
22/23 July Exeter-Bleat Wharf.
15/16 August. Railwells- Ewe
23/24 September. Stafford-Bleat Wharf.
21/22 October.Uckfield-Ewe.

*** No layout from me but lots of spiffing cool stuff and a great social.

Evening all,

I've now withdrawn from the Saltash show on the basis that it is too close to SWAG.

In other news, I continue to play trains....

The weathering on Dodo is superb Rob. :)

Morning, Steve.

Thank you. Of the two Pecketts that inhabit Sheep Dip, Dodo's plumage is definately the more dishevelled.

They're nice little chaps that scamper about as and when required. They suit SD. I have a Planet Industrials Kerr Stuart which frankly is too big for the layout. It really dwarfs the Pecketts for which the layout was originally built.

I may do a third as a back up but I'll be adding crews to both the existing examples before anything else. I now have the Modelu figures to paint and fit.

Ahead of Larkrail, I hope to add at least one brake van to the Sheep Dip private wagon fleet for the use of the staff. In fact, I could with one or two other quirky 'company' wagons.

The brake van will probably be a suitably distressed ( positively distraught !) ex-L&SWR Roadvan.

Although I normally run BR diesels as well as the Pecketts on SD, I do like the idea of a near extinct private industrial concern.......

Here 's a posed image of one of the new Bachmann Mainline Hunslets seen here on Bleat Wharf.

The jury is still out with regards to a narrow gauge adventure but there's no denying Dirty Linda has her charms.
I'm thinking a harbourside exchange type of thing, mixing standard gauge and narrow gauge a lá Penrhyn Harbour. No more than a hint but hopefully capturing the essence of it all.

However, this is a development for the future.

Evening all,

It's been a bit of a while but I can now confirm that the dates I've got the layouts out this year are as follows;

Sunday 23rd April. Taunton- SWAG. ***
Saturday 15th July-Larkrail -Sheep Dip
22nd/23rd July Exeter-Bleat Wharf.
15th/16th August. Railwells- Ewe
23rd/24th September. Stafford-Bleat Wharf.
21st/22nd October. Uckfield-Ewe.

*** No layout from me but lots of spiffing cool stuff and a great social.

In addition, the next project will hopefully start to progress in the later part of the year.

However, this will depend on a number of things including if plans to put on a one day show in Cardiff come to fruition. More on that once things are confirmed but I'm currently looking at potential layouts to book for this.

Afternoon all,

To bring things up to date.........ish......

The narrow gauge plans have been shelved, indefinitely. I think, deep down, I prefer standard gauge, albeit at the slightly eccentric, run down, weather beaten, weedy, rustingly bucolic end of the scale.

A recent influx of wagons from Rapido has certainly bolstered the pre-grouping wagon fleet as has a further batch of Hattons SE&CR coaches from their Genesis range. A third P class has also landed, the cost of which has been offset by the sale of a couple of bits and bobs.

I'm now on the search for early SE&CR wagons, about six should do it as the opens and vans from Rapido are only applicable from about 1916 onwards. They'll do as place keepers for now but a few opens and some ex SER / LCDR vans would be welcome.

Ebay sees these crop up but even badly made kits command silly prices so I'll have to keep my eyes peeled or get lucky.

I therefore hope to make some progress towards the end of the Summer, once the majority of the shows are done.

This then is the first of the Rapido GWR opens to go through the weathering shop.

Looks like a case of the GE and SECR vans doing a spot of GW van bullying.

Ah! Pencarrot of the parish.......Perhaps you could send over that rather big and noisey ex Great Western Prairie tank that you are so pleased with to help him out.......you know the one......the big one, whose new best mate is the ex Great Western Pannier. In fact they could both come over...........from your ex Great Western branch line terminus layout thingy.............You see, not so anti Great Western now, are we..........mmmmm?

You'd like that, wouldn't you?

He can reflect on all of this from his usual perch on the naughty step, CK........
