.........Can you recommend the Holts colours that you use for Blood and Custard,.........
ATB Mick

Mick,
Not had to paint in Blood & Custard yet so I'm not sure on the colours to use, I have used Holts Toyota Super Red 2
for a B.R. condition ex G.W. horse box and an L.M.S. condition ex.Nth. Staff's horse box although probably not strictly correct once they were weathered I doubt the rivett counters would have noticed http://eastsidepilot.wordpress.com/gallery-photos/north-staffs-railway-horse-box/

Mike,

They are the most amazing paints ever! They are extremely easy to apply and they really do achieve the desired effects well. I find that applying slight variations to the base shades of the model really helps the weathering effect. IE slightly lighter shade on the top of models or surfaces that are proud (eg the top of the 47 nose below the cab windscreens) where it is exposed to sunlight all the time. A slightly darker shaded towards the bottom achieves the same in reverse. Mig's website (http://migjimenez.blogspot.com/) gives some good advice about using the AK Interactive range. So, I've used it, and I recommend it without hesitation.

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom,

many thanks for the feed back. I'm relaying part of the layout at the moment and once that is done, I'll start looking at weathering some of my stock.

cheers
