Hi Folks, I have taken some pictures but they are too large a file to upload, what do I do to reduce the file size to one that can be handled and what size is best. Is it possible to upload 3 pictures at once or does the total size have
to be a certain figure ?????? adrianbs

Adrian - if you open a picture, is there a drop down menu along the top with 'Open' on the right side?
And if you drop down the 'Open' menu does it have 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager'?

Adrian, you need to reduce the size of each picture. SteveO is the case and is likely writing up a 'how to' but if you still are struggling I'd be happy to resize them if you email them to me. :)

What I do is open MS Office Picture manager, click on Edit, click on Compress Picture, then save file as something else and then No to Save changes? so I retain the original size file. There are easier ways I know!

I know this potentially adds another level of complexity, but you could sign up for a free Flickr account. You can embed images from your account in posts here very easily, and Flickr takes care of the resizing issue.

I'm afraid I don't know any PC software as I use a Mac. I'm sure that if you opened a picture you'd be able to alter the 'properties'?

Lots going on there Adrian, are the private owner wagons the current project? I like the look of them, can you tell us a bit about them, maybe the odd close up ?

Cor !! That actually works! This is the first picture so more to follow now I know how to do it.
Caption should have read --- Adrian's Workbench in its usual immaculate state with all tools in their
proper places and only one project on the go at a time. The Unimat is not visible as it sits on a side bench
and when needed it sits on my lap, whilst I sit in front of the bench. Not perhaps the safest position in
which to use a lathe but so far (50 years) I have not come to serious harm although I do get a lot of
swarf in my shoes if I forget to keep my feet out of the way. off to resize some more pics adrianbs
