I've added a length of 2x1 along the back now to give a bit more clearance for the signal and decided to place another telegraph pole in, this one will just have a lamp on it. Both the telegraph pole and the signal are in the correct place just 10 to 15 foot to far forward.
That's just a representation of we're the signal will go. I'm not attempting to build it my self.

I've added an additional length of 2x1 along the back of the board to give a bit more clearance for the signal. This was ballasted yesterday.

I've added an inch long extension to the back of the bridge, it was sprayed up this morning along with the ground cover.

I've had another heljan 31 visiting Canton for testing.

This will be off to its new home soon. I think they have done a nice job on this model. It's the best to date in my opinion. The detail keeps getting better.
I've got 5 westerns coming in October,( only 1 for me so far ). So may be we will have a western invasion on Canton!!!

Paul has been doing a bit more on the Turntable for Ranelagh Bridge recently as its going on loan to a friends layout for a while.
As Canton is fast nearing completion my attention is turning back to Ranelagh, I'm wondering whether to try and do something along the lines of Canton but for Ranelagh, Try to capture the essence of it but in a smaller space.
Or to try and just do a small part of it that could be inserted in to the layout once its in its proper home.

Ok some might cringe at this but I've been doing the track plan to see if every thing fits and well it does!!!!!!

I didn't have enough templates or track to lay it all out so out came the paint. I intend to lay new floor boards and until then every time I go in to the bar it will keep me motivated to get on with it,
My turn table is temporarily in its new home until the replacement is ready,

A sketched out track plan,

This shows how I would like to add a sliding traverser at the bottom end of the layout mainly to stable parcels stock and rail cars.

And back to Canton, the signal for the layout is progressing well. May be Jon can upload a few pictures on this thread.

This Canton cameo is rather fetching, I like the attention to detail, I think it's the ground work that makes all the difference as well as super stock, again, visual proof that less is more

Looking forward to the Ranelagh project.

I'm going to guess the Castle is the JLTRT product and the Britannia a DJH?, but the LMR tank engine that has me foxed?

Yes your right, I'm not to sure who's kit the big tank is. I will ask Pete next time I'm up. It's a very imposing looking engine.
