:)Thanks very much for the welcome guys.
I am sure Richard will be our main 'Thunder' poster & updater with details of his/our team's latest wizardry.
After Manchester we talked about our show invites & also where we would like to attend. I am very pleased that Aylesbury 2013 has now been confirmed. An internal e mail has already been sent around our group reminding people, including Richard, of locos that need to be finished (our 'f' word) and running for that show.
By the way, as they say, an army marches on it's stomach. Richard's wife Linda provides wonderful banquets for our regular working meets (no dancing wenches or jesters yet, but we live in hope!). Well, you may not be surprised to learn that when team members are asked about their availability for future working sessions, enquiries are often made as to whether Linda will be present. The reason for this is because in her absence R organises cold ham or maybe cheese sarnies and suddenly on those days less team members attend! You may say we're all spoilt and lucky to get a sarnie...In my day of course it were a handful of hot gravel & that were a luxury...
Anyway, back to the coal face... I 've got tender pick ups to fit to a Crab. (darn thing keeps moving sideways!)

Hi

I've just put a short video of Heyside at the Manchester show on YouTube

I realise that I start and end it with the same peering over the wall clip, having inadvertently consigned Steve's Jinty, which was supposed to be the first clip, to the interweb scrap bin ! Sorry.

Yes, in its original form; May 2008, and pp30-31 in that issue.

Glad Westernfan liked t' pigeon loft. That & the allotment is Allan's particular area. Very special it is too.  A shame the shunting Jinty hit R's digital cutting room floor, but at least my 4F features on Manchester bound 3 coach local passenger services. I enjoyed the atmospheric low viewing angle of R's video clips.Hope you all like the periodic passing of locos fitted with dcc sounds. I noticed the public & their children particularly enjoyed the dmu noises & various loco whistles ! We liked it if viewers noticed our working signals.
Anyway, thanks for all your positive comments about the layout.

Loved the video chaps, any chance of any more  I liked the light engine running tender first with the BV, lovely    Glad to hear the show went well, the first one is always a learning curve, it's great fun trying to remember what leg went where. I recall once travelling all the way from Doncaster to Southampton to find the stock box with all the BV's in was at home  :headbang: Unfortunately I didn't get to Manchester as planned but i'm hoping to see Heyside at future shows. What's on the agenda following the post show break ?

Hi Folks

With the weather so mild, I nipped up to Manchester, and grabbed some pics from my favourite spot on the Oldham Loop.

When I got there, an old Austin Seven was parked in the goods loop, but one of the new fangled DMUs came by

I managed to rush up to the staion hotel and grabbed a shot looking down.

Then back to the signal where an 8F was caught waiting for the line ahead.

I managed to get really close before I got an earful from the Bobby.

Not surprised you got an earful - by the looks of that last shot you were trespassing by then!! :D
Mindyou - they're the best pics I've ever seen taken with a Box Brownie....

Exellent pics Richard:bowdown:. You obviously had 1 eye on the weather because it wasnt raining or even a cloud in the sky, lucky this time of year:)):)). The DMU looks to have settled in at Heyside .
Keep posting those pics, as i can now relate to where on the layout the pics are took from after seeing it after Telford.

Hi Richard,

great pictures - I take it that the driver has been held at the signals for some time and gone to have words with the signalman, as he seems to be missing from his post;);)

Keep the pictures coming.

cheers

Ill have to pop over and collect the 105 to finish it  the layout certainly looks the part, but one thing that strikes me from the 8F shots is that the edge would blend in better if it was stone or stone cladding rather than black.

Hi

Wednesday work session today on Heyside, even if it was more of a social occasion in the post Xmas torpidity.

However, 2 new Heyside locos appeared. Roger's San Cheng Ivatt, and Steve's Connoisseur Jinty, weathered and ready for its pilot's duty.
