At the moment, the warehouse is only the 2nd biggest building :)

The mill is longer at 51'' (albeit 2 linked buildings) and work has commenced on a further mill, also at 51''

Think big:)

Looks like I won't be able to make Telford and I was hoping to see Hayside ah well let's hope I can see it at another exposition. Hope you and your crew have a good time Richard.

Len, I am going up to Telford early on the Saturday but will be staying for both days. Is this of any help to you?

Hi Len,

We are staying up at the Premier Inn near the station, I usually only go on the Saturday so this is a first for me.

As for reservations you will have to contact them, the offer of a lift is there if you need it .

This bulky, odd shaped board above is always our 'bete noire', despite it being very carefully boxed for protection ... We weren't happy with the way it was too close to the board in front of it on our first attempt.(With danger of movement & damage in transit...) It was finally put in behind the cab at an angle on its side, tied in, then photographed by Allan so we knew how to transport it safely back again after the show...
We thought it would be easier this time with two vans instead of one. Yes, it was, but then someone said the ongoing problem was that we are all getting older...

We used a laser level to set Heyside up at Telford today , with additional help from the spirit level app on Tim's phone! Richard was pleased with a much smoother & quicker set up. As Roger said, 'We're cooking on gas!'
Look forward to seeing Thunder visitors over the weekend.

Lots of interest & visitors watching Heyside today. Particular interest whenever the Crosti 9F ran. Folks also seemed keen on the well weatherbeaten WD... Plenty of opportunities for the shunter at the front of our layout to chat & answer people's questions too.

If there was ever an exhibition prize for the largest number of people watching a layout fiddle yard then we would probably win it on today's showing - and all that time we diligently spent working on the buildings and creating a realistic railway environment at the front of Heyside !

The guy leaning forward is Bill Boyd and is one of our members, KlOGGies that is. Didn't get much time to talk to Richard (operating side of layout) as he was rather busy most of the day.

Hi,

With Telford over, I have been reflecting how far we have come, both the layout and the group. Since I have been taking photos from the off, over the last 6 plus years, I have some interesting comparisons.

This is one of the most striking before and afters showing the development, taken from pretty much the same position.

I'll sort a couple more later.
