When I mix Polyfilla powder I add black or brown paint at the same time. Should it accidentally get knocked or chipped it doesn't show as a stark white patch.

Doesn't work with the lightweight filler Dave, mixing anything into it seems to destroy the lightness of it. The filler (from Wickes) is considerably lighter and we'll worth using on portable layouts.
To help prevent against chips I paint the dry plaster with PVA before painting. That hardens it up nicely. Then I add paint over the top.

It was actually. Definitely got a lucky draw. 1st class compartment no less. Somewhat more comfortable than the standard seats on my train trips into Birmingham.
