Larkrail

I vote for a summer date (as if this was a 'democratic' decision, ha ha) and Larkrail in Bath. I can see Simon's point about the logistics. I've been to both, and I prefer the easy going atmosphere of Larkrail, with access to a superb transport bookshop, Co-op and pub just round t'corner. And the prospect of a barbie with great company afterwards. Yep, I'm all for doing Larkrail again in Bath next summer - book me up please!

Well I've not been in to check dates, today's distraction was a systems failure of distracting proportions, but I'm veering back towards the summer date.

Pub garden in the sunshine, running trains in the garden in the evening, a continuing social on the Sunday, hours of sunshine.....

Thanks for all the positive comments, only downside is that pulling it forwards by four odd months implies a bit less manyana and a bit more er, organisating type stuff in a less than distant timeframe:eek:

Limpley/Brassknocker/Monkton/Cam/Larkrail has built up a stock of goodwill over the years amongst all the regular exhibitors and visitors so I don't think there will be any shortage of help with all that organisating type stuff.

I've just realised that I've got two rather jolly "in the pub" shots from this year's event that I don't think I have shared, but looking at them again I agree it's just got to be a summer jobbie in 2014:)

So here we go, starting with a general view of our invasion of the"Larkhall Inn" - I've never seen so much talent in a pub before:p

And looking in the other direction the hall is in the background and we have the famous 009 brothers looking somewhat celestial:D

It was a really enjoyable day, thanks again to everyone who participated and I really must write a show guide....

You would expect that 33 years in the military would have taught me to never volunteer. Bu**er!!!

Right, I have just been over to see a very nice lady called Naomi, handed over a deposit cheque and Larkrail 2014 is Go!

The format will be the same, a one day show with public opening from 10.0o am to 4.30 pm and it will be taking place on:

Saturday 19th July 2014
I will endeavour to (ahem) better my organisation and administration from last year, but please would all the usual suspects put a note in their diary, knots in handkerchiefs etc

More information to follow.

I would love to see Calcott Burtle in the flesh. It was a major reason why I was dragged into internet modelling (mmm, maybe I could word that better) when the build was described on RMweb. So you've got a lot to answer for Chris:)

I felt then, and still do, that it was a remarkable piece of observation and execution.
