"Something for the weekend, Sir...?" (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Reasons to stay away from Larkrail:

CK will be wearing shorts.....

Its OK, he is usually behind a counter selling bananas so the first time you catch a glimpse of his knees is in the pub after the show. A good, stiff drink will help overcome the shock:)

Great news. I'll try harder to make it this year.

At the risk of being (rightly) called a pedant, doesn't the title to this thread now need a very slight tweak?

I have just made a first pass at the floor plan for this year's "Larkrail" (I know, it's a bit early:rolleyes: ) and can report that it is going to be an absolute belter.

With any luck we might all fit in without too much negotiation over personal space:oops:

Further details to follow but it's Saturday 19th July 2014 at the New Oriel Hall in Larkhall, a mere two minutes walk from the shop and handily placed for the Co-op and Larkhall Inn.

Great, I can now go home and do some more ballasting without fretting about the hall layout:)

......and bananas of course!

An additional, unofficial, theme this year, hinted at during discussions with Capt K and PMP at Railex, is load shirts. I have just the thing that Kim bought me which she assures me is the height of fashion!!

Oh dear, I've forgotten what that was all about already!

You noted your Larkrail shirt would definitely not be orange!! but would almost certainly be a promotional aid to your usual sales pitch although I fully appreciate that you couldn't possibly comment on the exact style and shade;)
You were wearing a particularly fetching blue number at the time!
The full details of Simon's shirt remain a mystery although I suspect that Lesley will ensure it doesn't involve red and black stripes!

I associate one or two of the aforementioned with LOUD shirts - I'm not sure what a load shirt actually is but then again, I'm not a dedicated follower of fashion either.

Regrettably it looks like I can't get out of a mornings pushing tin, but I shall wear an appropriate shirt to recognise the importance of the occasion. I have something for next year though both shirt and layout wise !

Really looking forward to it as usual. a fantastic looking lineup Simon. Should mention that the brilliant John Greenwood, the Guy Williams of 2mm loco building and all round good egg, will be helping out on Highbury.
It's also worth noting that Highbury is being retired from all but local shows and 2mm events at the end of this year. The layouts first ever outing, albeit far from finished, was at an early incarnation of Lark/Camrail on the SCC towpath back in 1999 I think so it is fitting that it should make one of its last appearances here.
