Stunning.

Interesting........either at Laira or St Blazey between 1960 and 1967...........

Little chap would look nice alongside a Pannier.....Even better if it had it's own small shunting layout to play on...

Pencarrot Wharf..?

A small wharf was how my 7mm escapade started...

D2127 was a loco that saw service on the Wenford branch and as far as Wadebridge. Was bought for when I'm running Pencarrow prior to closure, along with the AC Railbus.

Morning Pencarrot.

Noted. But he really would look nice pottering about on his own little layout.......nothing fancy you understand.....minimum space Cameoesque side project.

Think of all the fun you could have building and operating it..........it'd be a very quick build I'm sure......

Just saying...

Chris already has a little side project that is rapidly turning into a major project. Any further side projects will distract him even more and Pencarrow, will continue to molder in the background.

Class 22 arrives

Domestic DIY projects are still the order of the day, so no modelling done since April. But in the meantime there's been a new item of stock acquired...

A fair while back @Ressaldar documented the build of a JLTRT D63XX / Class 22. I followed with interest and jokingly said I'd happily give the loco a home on Pencarrow should it ever come up for sale.

Well, a PM out if the blue last week means I'm now the proud owner of this beasty:

Very pleased with it, looks right at home lurking on my North Cornwall branch. Thanks Mike.

Its arrival means the the diesel roster for Pencarrow is now complete: 03, 22, AC Railbus.

Hi Chris,

certainly looks at home.

All part of the updating of my diesel fleet, here is the latest acquisition - early 1990s 47 631

Awaiting for the number transfer (Precision Decals, John Peck as usual) to dry out thoroughly before applying the protective 'Klear' coating and then weathering. Fitting the NRN aerials was quite fiddly.

A new thread will start soon, big problem with lack of Zimo MX699 decoders though!!!

regards

Mike

Cheers Mike, for the avoidance of doubt I won't be putting a request in for the blue 47! :))

Somehow it is suddenly September. Next weekend I'll be spending two days at Stafford Railway Circle's show at Bingley Hall at the County Show Ground. Oh, I should mention that I agreed to spend the weekend demonstrating making 7mm buildings.

From the masses of progress this year in this, and the companion thread for the 4mm Polsarrett layout, it will be clear that modelling hasn't been high on the agenda of late. In fact I've not done a jot since April.

So the exhibition...

On the plus side it will be nice to do some modelling and make some layout progress.

So now the weekend has crept up on me and I have the minor problem of trying to find all the stuff I need, work out what to take with me and work out what on earth I was planning to do...

There's a fair amount of modelling kit that has gravitated towards the domestic DIY collective. Going to take some searching to repatriate key stuff :)) .

There's also the issue of physically being able to access the modelling stuff. It is somewhat buried behind and under a mountain of DIY materials for the ongoing house refurb.

Going to be a fun few days...

They do look very nice. I can’t justify one.

I have the first loco I built in 7mm, a Springside 45, still running well, but I got fed up with the whine from the portescap, so I have a set of horns and axleboxes, and a Premier 2-stage motor to fit.

So I really can’t justify purchasing another one, I mean, really…

That does look very good, not sure about the green, but that may just be the camera. Just needs a 1366 pannier now.

Now running for cover and looking for a flak jacket and tin hat.
