Did i see on WT that Richard (Dikitriki) had got 'Caroline' running on his layout ?. Saw her at Derby RTC a couple of months ago. ;)

Keep up the good work mate.

Hi Steve,

you are correct, pulled by a spam can - it's the one Inspection Saloon that doesn't ring any bells and whistles for me.

'fraid not, never really liked it when it was with it's five other brothers running in sets between Charing Cross/Cannon Street and Hastings in the late 50s early 60s.

Hi Steve,

thanks for thinking of these options - the ex LMS one would have to be scratch built as it is not available as either a straight forward kit or as the original Kitchen Car that it was converted from in 1957. We have asked Sidelines to consider both options, but it may be some time in coming as it is not their prefered coach length? The possibility of doing an etch is becoming a possibility, but do not hold your breath. TMD395379 was renumbered DB999503 and TMD 395380 became DB999504 and was still running in the late 90's/early 00's in EWS colours

The ex GWR one is available from Orion Models and we are giving consideration to doing one in the not too distant future - but again, do not hold your breath.

Mike,
I tried the easy way and I tried the hard way... no access to the carriage on the ELR was permitted. From what I was told I understand that the carriage may well be inside the carriage shed beyond the engine shed; I was informed, somewhat pointedly, that the carriage coulkd not be seen over the fence. Sorry.

regards, Graham

Hi Graham,

many thanks for taking the time and making the effort, much appreciated.

I have since our last communication, had a word with Laurie Lynch and he has supplied me with some reject Collett sides so that I can do a 'cut and paste' with door units, so I'll have another look at the oblique photos and see if I can come up with a solution.

I have made a start on the 121 conversion in as much as I have removed the surplus door furniture and also repositioned the two partitions (there are only two fitted anyway) that Bachmann so cleverly managed to get in the wrong place - photos will follow in due course, when there is some proper progress to photograph.

In the mean time, I have started painting an MOK 14xx for a Club member, so that will be photographed first.

cheers

just finished a refurb job on a Sidelines D2046 Inspection Saloon for a fellow WTer, but due to an 'enforced' Microsoft downgrade which installed IE10, my Picasa Exports files seem to be wandering around the ether and I cannot access them to post any photos, I will try a different ploy, but do not hold your breath.

Does anybody have any printable suggestions as to how I might get IE10 to grab these Export files?

cheers

Mike

a long winded solution, but it would seem to work, is to 'Export' the photo, then transfer it back from the 'Exported' file to a new file back in the main area - so here goes:

I will take some of with the body removed and post them later today.

Work has started on the 121 conversion and I'll take some progress to date photos when I do the Inspection Saloon interior.

having sorted out the long way round to prepare photos, herewith, a few shots of the interior makeover - the red leather to the seats of all of the chairs and also to the backs of the armchairs and a liberal sprinkling of track plans on the tables and work surfaces. The 'obscure' windows to the toilet and kitchen were also replaced - see photos above. The only external work was the replacement of the handrails to the main step units which had only been to the solebar instead of the full depth of the steps.

The track plans are a great idea Mike. I had thought of reducing a google map but track plans are even better. Something else stored up for when mine gets dusted off.

Hi Richard,

I don't think so, more ex GWR/LMS in the Gloucester area.

I'll have a dig around to see what I have.

Hi Mike

Sorry, I was too cryptic. I was just wondering whether that was Tim's coach you were working on? It looks great.

Cheers
