Hi Mike,

Love the 'Parcels'

Those Westdale bogies look the biz with double ended drive. Do Westdale supply the motor and gear/worm drives as a complete package? They look just what I need (x2) for my 104 project...

Thanks

Stu

Hi Stu,

glad you like the 128.

Dick Taylor - Westdale does an 8'6" Power bogie/trailing bogie kit @ £93 and a 2 trailing bogie kit @£46 - both 2010 prices a call to him on 01628 482493 will put the score right regarding current prices. He also does a specific set for the 101 at the (then) same prices.

Best of luck with your build.

cheers

Mike

Hi Mike, I like the idea of screwing a brass plate to the mdf. I have, lost in the stack a GNR triplet set that was made from former Howlden 6 wheeled carriages. And although the etches are nickel, it came with hardboard floors. I planned to replace them with brass or nickel sheet but I might explore your idea before I decide on which way to go.

about time I updated the job that is going through the workshop at present - the LMS liveried Inspection Saloon revised into the unique? (I have never seen a photo of one of these D2046 Saloons fitted with a speedo) DM45026, the only outstanding items are the number and speed restriction transfers - on order from Railtec, must be six weeks and counting.

I think that some light weathering to the chassis is called for, once the transfers are fixed.

I now have the JLTRT kit for the H33 Restaurant Coach to convert to the S&T Inspection Saloon but am having great difficulty in getting any form of response from the East Lancs Railway to arrange a site visit for survey purposes, so I think that I shall have to rely on photos, but all of those that I have found are all oblique. I know that there is a programme available to shift/adjust such photos into 'pure' broadside but that will no doubt be expensive. So I'll give some more thought to what to do next.

In the meantime, I have the 121 to 'convert' to ADB975659, (the first one taken into Departmental service) having had the bits and pieces collected for me at Kettering.

More to follow soon - I hope

cheers

Hi Martin,

thanks for the thumbs up. I have been in touch with Railtec as well and as you say success brings problems with supply - presumably a one man band (also as a part time manufacturer) supplying a greater number of customers. I have enough other work to do so as not to get too frustrated - It's also the curse of wanting to do something out of the ordinary as well. I have had the transfers for the S&T Inspection Saloon on order via Precision Decals for a while now. pre-empting this very situation.

cheers

Peter and I intend to visit the ELR on Maundy Thursday... what photos do you want and I shall try to oblige.

Hi Graham,

that is a very kind offer thank you. I will send a PM with a .pdf attached which was going to be my 'survey' sheet.

Mike

Hi Graham,

It is in the main C&W workshop - dims onto the .pdf will speak as loud as photos in this instance I think.

cheers
