Nice! I do have a hankering for a Hall, I'm not a big Western Region fan, but Halls are quite compact and clean lined and I do think lined black suits them better, much like the V2s look better in lined black to me. Both classes look better with slab sided tenders in my eyes too.

Not sure I've been thinking along the same lines Scorpio kit jltrt SDK and resin boiler. For 5904 I will go for a Finney kit Scorpio 8 wheel tender and a resin boiler.
It all depends on work, if I can go for the full jltrt on the modified hall I will having said that I've seen some Lovely models from the Scorpio range & if you can change some castings and add some extra details the finished result will look just as good.
I intend to do the same with the seven/Scorpio DoG just change the castings that need to changed to Laurie griffin and ragstones.
Jltrt do a SDK for all there GW range.

As I'm still waiting for deliveries before I can commence with track laying I decided to start marking out on the boards the position of the water cranes, dummy point motors etc and I made up my signs I had etched from guilplates. I also popped in the telegraph poles image.jpg
It's nice to get some elevation on the layout.

I've had a delivery from metal smith and the base has arrived.
I can get to work getting the base in. I'm hoping by the end of September the turn table will be operational and the 4 dead end roads will be in and I can at least turn a loco and then park it up.
Good times ahead

I've cut a hole !!! The well is in place. A trip to the timber merchants in the morning to finish the bracing. Metal smith have been superb with this one as we are marrying an old design turn table with the current pit so it's a bit of a hybrid. I just need the mounting pin that I'm collecting at Telford

What's the pit made from, looks like it might be resin or foam board?

Steve and myself have been having a talk about the TT and we're now looking at fitting the two deep angled girders onto the table. This has been made possible by Metalsmith's supplying the pit with a knock out centre section, also I have a nice drawing showing the two centre beams (copyright Tony Renarlds), on the drawing I've added the 7mm sizes in red. I'm also looking at making a representation of the centre pivot with two roller bearings in it.

The drawing is for the curved over girder type but I think that most of the sizes will be about right for our TT.
