Steph, yes it's detail picking and something I like to do with class 40's
, with over 2400 images off the web to choose from it doesn't take long, I didn't think to tie it in with the following image LOL.
It's one of only 14 engines with discs removed, there are two others (oo1 & 009 but these (D200 - D209) never had nose access ladders fitted, so the four bolt heads are missing.
It also has the extra headboard brackets outside of the door brackets, not all engines had that.
The warning flashes are mounted very high, most were fitted lower and more outboard.
The top marker light, note the two brackets that would hold the disc are missing, not a common feature, most of the disc-less engines kept these.
Finally the blue star markings, the top point of the star just lines up with the edge of marker light fitting above, blue star markings are as individual as the person who applied them, some are inboard, some out board. these match 092 perfectly.
If it is the same as the next picture and it is March then the shot is early morning, March sidings faced almost directly East. The road in the background is Hundred Road, here's a shot of the site now.
The engine would of been in the red ellipse if it were March. The warehouses are there but might of changed over the last 30 years or so, but I recall some of them there back in the 80's.
Here's one of my photos from the 80's note wagon is the same location, if the above image were mirrored and spacing of tracks.
