Is this how it should read?

I think Pugsley was referring to the telephone number on the bottom of the hazard warning panel.

Up to 1990 London numbers were '01'
1990 to 1995 London numbers were '071' & 081'
From 1995 London numbers were then '0171' & '0181'
They then changed again in 2000!

That hazard warning panel has an 0171 number and is therefore post 1995.

It was something that I had to take into consideration when putting together the Hazchem panels for my Total tanks in 4mm scale.

The vale has been lifted from my eyes.
Never had to call a London number until the 020 etc. came in.

About time I up-dated this thread!

Can't remember if I have put up a picture of the Heljan Falcon body that I painted in BR Green.

A picture of the JLTRT 22 with a bit of basic weathering on it.

A few pictures of the Heljan Western that I replaced the brakes with JLTRT cast ones and also moved the headcode up a tad.

And I have finally got around to finishing a JLTRT BG. I have used Easybuild etched window bars as the model has only a provision for two bars on the large side windows.

Also painted a Heljan class 60 into Mainline. Forgot to add that it is missing the front handrail and I don't have any spare ones at the moment.

Thought I had better update this thread.

I recently weathered my Westdale TCV and a JLTRT BG. I have put pick-ups and lights in the BG with different lights/LED's in it to see which I like best for colour.

Built this Judith Edge Sentinel as well recently. I am now running it in before painting it in a colour I have not made my mind up on yet. I have built it as a fictional industrial with a nice pair of horns on the roof and a flashing orange beacon. It will have a sound chip in it when I get round to it.

Bit behind with this lot aren't I

I have been building one of the JLTRT Prestwin wagons. I like the fact that these could be built in an evening. Well you could if the packing department had packed the bits for a 12ft wheelbase kit and not mixed them up with the 10ft wheelbase kit. So if you get one of these I would recommend you check all the lost wax castings against the list of parts list. But everything was sorted by Laurie in double quick time.



If anyone wants to build one the pipework on the top can seem a bit daunting but after consulting pictures on Paul Bartlett's excellent website I managed to sort it out. Anyway here are some pictures of it that show all the details.

I have added a small piece of flat brass strip to support the bottom of the handbrake guide.

he brake rigging is a bit basic underneath as Pete Waterman admits that they just could not find any info on it, so if you have any he would like to hear from you.

The buffers take a while to drill out to make working. The lampbracket is from Slaters as there was not one in the kit and I forgot to ask Laurie for it but I had these in stock.

The body is separate from the chassis at the moment as it will make it easier to paint should I decide to paint the whole chassis black. But looking at pictures I think the solebars might be bauxite.

I did get round to finishing the Prestwin. I used Railmatch late bauxite and Rail Tec transfers. Could realy do with another to keep it company as it looks lonely on it's own.

I have gone onto another project, a 4TC from JLTRT MkI's and Peter Clark ends plus a few other bit's and pieces from him. I got a set of bogies from Peter Clark, from his CIG kit, but they don't have any bolsters as they are on the main fret of etchings. His white metal ends was not a bad fit but the roof did stick up a bit on the front right-hand corner. I got some scrap coach sides from Laurie to get 4 additional doors as I had to add a door into the first window bay on these driving trailers. Also had to change the front door from an outward opening to inward opening one.

A quick question for all you 7mm coach modellers out there, who does these roof vents that the majority of TC's use? JLTRT supply all their MkI's with ridge vents. I need 4 coaches worth of these with the opening at the bottom each side. I think Westdale did them?

I'm getting worried with you doing all of this SR stuff - Thumpers et al! have you seen the light at the far end of the tunnel?

Perhaps Peter Cowling might be able to help with the vents, or possibly Dave Brooks at JPL.
