My friend who lived down the road in no. 28 had one of those! His was red though, but otherwise just like that.

A few hours work today has seen the surface of the yard at the rear of the undertakers block given its initial finish.

This was the first time I had used Chooch textured sheets. They came out surprisingly well, though I glued them in place rather than using the self adhesive sheet supplied.

I coloured them using an acrylic paint base and washes plus highlights using water colour pencils.

Chance of a few hours today has seen some of the details starting to be installed at the level crossing end of the layout.

The blank area next to the crossing will be home to a disused Hull & Barnsley design signal box Mike Nicholson is kindly constructing for the layout.

The shops and yard to the rear of the underakers are starting to progress too. I seriously need to look at the road vehicles though.

This was an interesting project today. Using a few odds and ends we had lying about to make up a small removable scenic insert to cover an area across a baseboard joint between two of the backdrop buildings.

A spare few hours over the last couple of days and the end of the line with the disused level crossing and lines has seen a lot more details and an outbreak of weeds.

I still need to add 7mm scale chain and padlock to each pair though

The crossing has also seen the addition of the correct H&B trespass notices too.

Careful now - it might well be a springy gate closer (Copydex or similar) to centralise the gate whenever opened……..
