In contrast to a lot of the detail shots of the layout posted recently here are a few overall shots showing the current state if play on the model. Plus for those that were curious, the track layout and fiddleyard entrances.



The rails are also getting a long overdue cleaning to see if things still function as the last time the layout was run was probably 2019!.....and the weeds have grown quite
a bit since then.

It's a Norton. It's currently in disgrace as it kicked back and threw its owner a couple of weeks back.

The platelayers hut that has been hanging about the workshop almost as long as the layout, has finally found a home....



Still needs a door handle though!

In addition to adding the platelayers hut the final weeding of the trackwork has finally been completed.

Just leaving an untouched area near the level crossing which is the site of a Hull & Barnsley signal box that Mike Nicholson is kindly building for the layout.

Now I just have to carefully clean and test it all as thanks to the generosity of friends down the M62 we have the chance to exhibit the layout early in the New Year. So it might be an idea that it works aswell.

Cheers. Actually it's a compromise between looks and maintaining reliable operation. Some of the prototype lines in Hull that inspired this model were way more overgrown in the 60s.

Nearing completion on my workbench. But seen here on a quick trial fitting on the layout is block of shops by the level crossing.

This structure will be the last non railway building to be added to the foreground on the layout.

No. It was called Club Fruit and has been discontinued in UK but apparently still available in Ireland.
