Chris,

I have just discovered that Ragstone have taken over Agenoria’s product range. This may help with your wee pannier.

Agenoria

Hopefully Ragstone will have a good look at what they have bought and improve / correct the later kits. Plenty of scope on the 1366...

Brake van special on Pencarrow.

Latest addition is the Dapol RTR unfitted BR Std van nearest the camera.

IMAG6807.jpg

Usual collection of loose couplings and buffers in the box. Also ran like a dog until I adjusted the fit of the compensation bar as the wheels were so loose in the axle boxes they dragged on the underside. Seems to look like the prototype but will need some work such as removing the electric flashes and weathering etc.

Next is my part finished Slater's kit which has been backdated to a LNER example with modifications to the end platforms, stepboards, body side, lamp irons etc.

IMAG6809.jpg

Continuing my theme of unfinished stuff, here's an NE Toad built from one of Jim's Connoisseur kits.

And last we have another Slater's kit, this time the LMS Std van with wide duckets and deep weight pocket. And yes, unfinished.

Also in the kit box we have a Parkside 25t SR pillbox, a GWR 20t AA19 Toad from Parkside and a Connoisseur 24t LSWR brake. Just a SR Queen Mary to complete the set...

(yes I do have a brake van fetish!)

Don't you need a Road Van.

Just a SR Queen Mary to complete the set...

Shouldn't that be two.... SR new and SR ex-LBSC motor luggage van versions. ;)

25t SR pillbox

All variants? 25T wide plank, 25T wide and narrow planks, . Not forgetting there were LH and RH ducket variants as well....:D

Then there's also the 15T brake van with the shallow solebar......

On the subject of Parkside kits the SR 25T pillbox (RH ducket) was the first kit I built after moving up to O scale.

I also built two Parkside SR vans - one with a 9' wheelbase as supplied (unfitted) and the other I chopped around to make a 10' wheelbase (fitted). I also scribed the additional planks to turn it into a wide and narrow plank version and added a tie rod. I never got round to building a 9'6'' wheelbase Lancing built van.

Very nice wagons Dave, love the 2+2 planking and 10' wheelbase variations. The pillbox 25t van was one of the first 7mm kits I attempted. I went for attempting to amend the sides to 2+2, plus the other alterations to suit but in the process snapped the chassis in half. Ooops.

You and Peter really don't need to make any more brake van suggestions, I'm thinking 9 is probably enough on a smallish layout.

Nothing wrong with a Brake van fetish. I have just been flicking through this months Rubber and Plastics Monthly which has a special feature on L&SWR Road vans..........ahem

In 4mm, I have a few unbuilt kits for a few more unusual types. The S&DJR six wheel brake van is my favourite from D&S and I have two Road vans from Smallbrook, a 10t and an 18t to build for the Lamb Regis branch. I must get on and build them as they will add considerable character.

Hornby are doing us proud this year with a L&SWR Warner van and a LM&SR standard van both of which will find a home at Chateau Sheep.

I see that Dapol do a RTR Pill box for O gauge.............or do I buy and build a Parkside Toad as an introduction to the big scale......before the Dapol 14xx arrives.
