Looks good

I dunno if you are aware but from the cab front to the leading edge of the drivers door the two cabs are different lengths

Jim I have not started the sides of the cab yet, as this master is for the cab ends (due to it being such an awkward piece of work) but can you elaborate as I would hate to miss something. The sides are going to be etched from Brass with any luck, drawn to be etched by our very own Bob-65b so door spacings and such the like will be done later.

I can only measure up the 4mm scale one but the extra length is behind the drivers window. On the DTC its 9.5mm and on the BDTS is a mm shorter at 8.5. Southern pride have used the leading edge of the drivers door as the end of the etch, forward of this the lower part of the bodyside is the resin body casting while the upper part is an etched wrapper that caters for the window sides. I dunno if the following pic helps with where they etched bits

Jim I don't suppose you could put the two together and take a picture of them together and could you take a piccy of the end they are exquisite

Ian, why dont you get a 4mm kit.
Mesure it and times it by 175%. then you'll have something that looks correct.

Dangerous move doing that. Look what happened when PHD did that with the HJ Cargowaggon - produced a 7mm one that is about 5mm too narrow! You never really know what design compromises are introduced when they're smaller or if there are any inaccuracies. Safer to work from the photos and measurements of the one at Cov if you can get to it.

Its a good starting point if you've got no other option.
Also iploffy has the basic dimantions and only wants a close looking model.

It wifey here. It would never have happened in your day due to the fact we cannot go back to prehistoric times unfortunately. However today women have now intellectually bypassed men and you are still thinking what the F..k happened.

If you compare this shape with the one on top you will see the amount of plastic it's taken to build it up and it isn't done yet more to be removed and then the car body filler . The top where the windows are, has yet to be shaped with a raked back at the top. The roof will be cut off and be replaced with another we have floating around so as to give it the lip.

Bit more done today the roof has been loped off and the front has had more work done to it. I have mounted it temporarily on accommodation bogiesphoto(6).JPGphoto(5).JPGphoto (4).JPG

Next roof then filler, the shape of the bottom still ain't right gonna do some more on that tomorrow as there is too much solvent weld in it and I don't want it dissolving on me

Thank you Jim

Now for my next stupid question to all of you resin casters our there,

I now have a working rough prototype it would be prudent to cast this and then refine it as this can then be re-cast time and time again if I make any stupid balls ups, my question is - how easy is it to cut and shape resin and will car body filler adhere to it.

Ze colonel ( who has very little idea about what he's doing but is doing it non the less:)))
