I have to say I'm now looking forward to going to Kettering, so where is the prototype location for you shed, it looks really good, what are the overall dimensions. I like your concrete buffers too. Will you have one for sale ?

Thanks Richard. I really like the concrete buffers too. This actual one is Wellingborough but the Midland/BR region built several to a similar design. Buxton was a through shed based on the design. Others had office blocks attached etc. so they are made to order and also the way the pits work they are gauge specific to flush the track.

It’s all approximately 750mm x 290mm.

Suffolk Yellow bricks are a hard colour to paint but a start has been made.

At last after it’s outing to Kettering at the weekend I was able to get this finished today.



It’s a lot of fun just fiddling with levers switching the lights. Once connected to the layout it should get better!

Back to the GWR footbridge, we had the nearly finished build on the workbench today.


Should be primed over the weekend ready for the customer to do the final finishing and painting.

Today I’ve added a platform to accommodate the GWR waiting room to the GWR country halt sections.

4mm is so small when compared to handling 7mm all day but it’s amazing that you can still get the little details in from the laser.

To get the multiple layers of brick work these older buildings were always embellished with, I half engrave away the material then engrave again with the mortar lines. This gives me a part with two layers of bricks. If I had to laminate two thinner layers I’d be pushing my patience.
